PHD & M.Sc Thesis Discussion in 2019

The Student (Marwa Nasir Mohammed)  at the Department of Architecture has been granted M.Sc. degree on her thesis titled “The insular rang in historical city centers "

The Student (Rasha Nuri Abbas)  at the Department of Architecture has been granted M.Sc. degree on her thesis titled “Flexibility in the Design of Operation Room: Local Hospitals- Study Case "

The study focuses on surgical spaces because it represents the core of the building of  hospitals, both "economically" and "technically" in which scientific progress and technological development require space to space to embody innovations in integrated surgical performance aiming at saving humanity.

According  to  the establishment of legislative laws , strict considerations of surgical spaces and permanent change in scientific progress in the field  of surgery,

the concept of flexibility is an essential requirement in the design of contemporary surgical spaces is  the importance of change in order to keep update of that development, which makes the concept of flexibility a "fundamental" requirement in the design of contemporary surgical spaces.

Where the research formulated its research problem as "lack of knowledge” regarding the basic vocabulary and indicators to achieve flexibility in the design system of the pavilion and surgical space designed according to modern international standards, and the  mechanisms  by  applying   those words within the development of local society."

The theoretical framework consisted of four main items: the main indicators in in achieving  the flexibility of the design system of the surgical parlor , the strategies and mechanisms to achieve flexibility in the design system, the objectives of achieving flexibility in the design system and flexible surgical space.

The research aims to define flexible surgical spaces: It is an integrated design system responds to the circumstances of the forces of change depending on the characteristics of its systems .It is  the formative functional system adapted for career change ,within physical structure viable transformation and has the ability of  expansion in addition to the  social and interactive system with unexpected circumstances able to solve the intractable aspects.

The Student  (Mahmoud Hussein Ali Mohamed) at the Department of
Architecture granted M.Sc. degree on his thesis titled  “Urban contraction -
the impact of neglected buildings in the urban fabric .
The thesis dealt with the study of contraction in urban design and the
previous methods discussions on the concept of The study, highlighted the
most important economic, social, physical and temporal dimensions
resulting from the effect of neglected buildings in the urban fabric .

M.Sc. Thesis Discussion Titled “The Effect of Cosmic Systems in Architectural Design concept”

The Student  Ziad Nimer Ageel at the Department of Architecture granted M.Sc. degree on his thesis titled  “The Effect of Cosmic Systems in Architectural Design concept”.
The thesis dealt with the study of the cosmic interpretation in its old and new perspective within its implications on the requirements of the modernity, including the requirements of architecture both formal and functional embodiment levels. The study also focused on the effect of the characteristics of cosmic systems on the strategic dimension of coexistence to produce architectural concept reaching for a more openminded approach to the world by exploring the appropriate mechanisms
for applying the features of cosmic systems in devising the design patterns of contemporary architectural text.

M.Sc. Thesis Discussion Titled “Strategy of the Secure Architectural Design for Commercial Buildings." The Student  Toqa Mahmmod Hameed at the Department of Architecture granted M.Sc. degree on her thesis titled  “Strategy for Secure Architectural Design for Commercial Buildings”

The thesis addressed the concept of security as one of the basic concepts affecting the process of architectural design. Despite the development of architecture, its nominal objective remained to achieve safety and security.
The thesis focused on commercial buildings as they represent the core of the country& economy.
