The President of the University of Technology granted a certificate of appreciation to a visiting professor in the department of architecture

 

The President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Hassan Al-Ghabban granted a certificate of appreciation to a visiting professor in the department of architecture,Prof. Dr.Jalah Mohamed Hassan Al-Makhzoumi, was awarded on Sunday 12/9/2021 a commemorative symbol of the university in addition to  a certificate of appreciation for winning the first award of excellence for women in architecture and construction, where it was awarded the award for her efforts in developing the architecture profession and the architectural community in Iraq, wishing her continued excellence and giving in the service of the scientific process in our country. The honor  prize was received by Dr. Rawa Fawzy on behalf of Dr.Jalah Al- Makhzoumi.

 

Under the patronage of the Presidency of the University and the Research and Development Unit  at the University of Technology and with the support of the Projects and Construction Division, a group of postgraduate students (Masters Degree) and students of undergraduate  studies (third stage) accomplished  a three-dimensional figurine of the University of Technology with an introductory video for the scientific departments and other facilities at the university through designing programs used by students of architecture (Skp, revit, lumion, premire, ae).

The participants granted  a letter of thanks  from the president of the university in appreciation of their efforts. The department congratulates its students for this achievement, wishing them more contribution  in serving their university and our country, Iraq.

 
 
 
 
 
 

The University of Technology has advanced more than 200 ranks within the category of 801+ in the world within  Times World Classification of its 2022 edition, after it was ranked in last year's edition within the categor 1000+. In the meantime, Universities of Baghdad, Universities of Basra and Al-Mustansiriya University came within the category 1201+.

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has announced the ability and success of Iraqi universities in enhancing  their position in the international rankings, as the University Of Technology, Baghdad, Basra and Al-Mustansiriya have achieved advanced competitive positions within the results of the Times World Classification in its version of 2022, which ranked more than 1,600 universities from 99 countries after analyzing more data of  two thousand and one hundred international universities.



Within this context , the Department of Architecture congratulates the Faculty members, praising their scientific commitment to the requirements of the quality and academic accreditation.

It is worth mentioning that the British Times World Classification adopts five main scientific criteria for evaluating and grading universities, which are scientific research at 30% influence , education at 30% influence, citations with 30% influence, international outlook 7.5% influence and knowledge transfer (income from industry) 2.5 influence.

It is worth mentioning that Iraqi public and private universities have their competitive presence in international rankings, especially (The Times) classification, in which there are currently four Iraqi universities, and the (QS) classification, in which there are five universities, the (Scimago) classification, in which there are twenty-two Iraqi universities, and the (Greenmetric) classification ) in which sixty-one Iraqi universities enrolled, the URAP classification, in which four Iraqi universities are present, in addition to the (Webometrics) classification  that  recorded the attendance and competition of eighty-two Iraqi universities and colleges .

Iraq achieved an increase in publishing research within the Scopus index and granted the forty-fifth position globally , sixth in the Middle East and third in the Arab world .
