Student participation in the scientific field visits and entrepreneurs support programs
Written by hindWithin the activities of the Alumni Follow-up Unit in the department, the fifth stage students participated on Thursday, March 23, 2022 in the (Visit-Day Program Entrepreneurship and the Entrepreneurship and Pioneering Program), which were prepared in cooperation with both the Qualification and Employment Follow-up Division at the University of Technology and (the Station) Foundation.
The station foundation announced its program (The Metro), which targets university students in different fields in 2022, including awareness sessions on the entrepreneurship environment and various topics, including marketing, innovation, problem solving and how to find their own projects, in addition to job training. The program is intended for recent graduates in general and university students in particular to build their skills and abilities aiming at increasing job opportunities after graduation.
The program was explained to the students, then an introductory tour was prepared inside the headquarters of the station Foundation to introduce its departments support and facilities it provides to students, business owners and emerging projects.
Noting that the future objectives of the program include students’ training, introducing them to the private sector, training them on real practical interviews, and how to create a CV to give them more opportunities and build qualifications in the future. These trainings will be within university campus and for a period of three hours once or twice a week.
A Plastic Sculptor's House - Second Stage Design Project
Written by hindThe Department of Architecture at the University of Technology held an exhibition for the second stage students of the academic year 2021-2022.
Their second project, a plastic sculptor's house on Abu Nawas Street, was presented. The aim of the project was to train students to deal with sloping land, connect spaces based on the functional recruitments and dealing with multiple floors, including the basement.
In the first initiative of its kind, the Department of Architecture held a suburban run contest for the university’s professors and employees held jog within the University of Technology spaces as part of the University Health Day initiatives in cooperation with the Environment Research Center and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Huda Muhammad Suleiman.
The contest started and ended at the Environment Research Center Many faculty members and employees were participated headed by the scientific assistant of the department of Architecture, Prof. Dr. Mufid Ihsan Shouk, and the administrative assistant,. Dr. Ahmed Talib Hamid.
The first winners and participants were rewarded with valuable medals.
Students of the first stage continue to take online and in person exams in the Department of Architecture, starting from Thursday, March 17, 2022. The students were distributed to the classes and studios as a precaution measure to prevent the Corona virus, according to the decisions of the crisis cell and according to the instructions of the presidency of the university of technology.
The Architectural Design faculty members with stage three students organized a scientific visit to the Hotel Babylon Rotana aiming at promoting the integration of theoretical knowledge with the practical application of the architectural projects.
The Hotel official has organized tours for the students to inspect the intersection set of systems of the Hotel Project as this hotel is the project they will be working on in the second semester of the academic year. These tours included identifying all the hotel service areas that included

Doctorate Thesis Discussion Titled ( Digital Morphology In Architecture)
Written by hindThe Student (Zainab Ismail Abdul-Kadhim) at the Department of Architecture has been granted a doctorate of science degree on her thesis titled (( Digital Morphology In Architecture))
The discussion was held on Thursday, March 9, 2022 at nine A.M, at the postgraduate study hall in the Department of Architectural Engineering at the University of Technology.
The thesis discussed the concept of digital morphology in terms of studying the structure and shape reflection in the surrounding environment. It is considered one of the concepts associated with algorithmic architecture and barometric architecture.
The thesis focused on the impact of this concept in the analysis and the interpretation of the digital formation of architectural products. Morphological design strategies were extracted.

Designing an illustrated poster concerning job preparing in the field of architecture

The Graduate Follow-Up Unit in the department of Architecture completed an illustrated poster reviewing the stages followed up by the new graduates that precede searching for a job in the field of architecture. These steps include preparing a brief CV, Resume and Portfolio for the student's architectural work, skills and hobbies, in addition to creating professional accounts on social media. The Graduate Follow-up Unit will organize an introductory lecture in the second course on each of these steps. Poster designer: student Joanne Hamed.
The Student (((Yosur Raid Muhsin))) at the Department of Architecture has been granted Master of science degree on her thesis titled (Glitch in Digital Architecture)The discussion was held on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at nine A.M, at the postgraduate study hall in the Department of Architectural Engineering at the University of Technology.
The discussion committee was headed by Assistant Prof. Dr. Shamail Muhamed Wajih and included each of Assistant Prof. Dr. Sajidah Kadhim Ulawi , Lecturer .Dr. Ahmed Louay Ahmed as members .

Minister of Youth and Sports Meeting - a scientific visit organizing

His Excellency the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Adnan Dirjal, met the representative of our department, Dr. Bilal Samir Ali and a group of third and fourth stage students participating in the Scientific Innovations Exhibition sponsored by the Iraqi Ministry of Youth and Sports / Scientific Care Department.
During the meeting, the Minister praised the students’ participation in the Scientific Innovations Exhibition, stressed that the Ministry welcomes students’ engineering projects, and all purposeful youthful ideas ,the ministry will remain supportive of projects contributing to Iraq building.
After the meeting, a scientific visit was organized to the buildings of the Olympic Champion Academy in the city of Bismayah, where the students were informed to the contemporary designs and methods of implementation of the buildings in accordance with the syllables related to the architectural and structural and electrical design, mechanical and health services
Iraqi Universities Championship Awards for Fast Chess ( male and female students) Of the Academic year 2021-2022

In the presence of the President of the University of Technology , the scientific and administrative assistants, heads of the departments and committee members in addition to the participating delegations. The Iraqi Universities Chess Championship for male and female students has started In the main hall of the University Of Technology theater with an unprecedented participation of 208 students (male and female) players which representing 50 public and private universities and colleges.
The Department of Architecture participants are Qabas Mustafa and Rawan Saadi, the fifth stage students , participated in the university’s team for female students in chess, and the team granted the second rank in the Universities Championship.
Final submission of the second project (student center at the University of Technology) for third stage students

The third stage students completed the final submission of the (Techno Student Center-Book Store project, which is the second project within the requirements of the first semester of the 2021-2022 academic year for the architectural design subject, under the supervision of Dr. Abdullah Saadoun Al-Maamouri, the third stage supervisor and the professors of the four stage. Where three proposed sites were selected within the University of Technology campus, and this came with the aim of creating a future vision
that represents the university’s need for such a facility that combines the marketing, entertainment and cultural aspects.
The students’ outputs combine the realization of space-time affiliation and their symbolism, as well as the achievement of functional and formal aspects, as well as structural and facilities systems.
