The Architecture Department team won its match against the Laser Engineering team with a score of 3-0 within the University of Technology Football Championship (Professors) for the academic year 2022-2023.
The tournament is organized by the Student Activities Department, with the participation of 16 teams from the engineering and scientific departments at the university.
Assistant lecturer Mohamed Hassan Mohamed scored the first goal in the first half, the graduate student Bilal Hussein scored the second and third goals in the second half. The match ended in a friendly atmosphere between the players of the two teams.

The Department of Architecture at the University of Technology, in cooperation with the Women's Empowerment Unit and Elaf Media Training Center, hosted on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022 a training workshop entitled " Content Creation Workshop for Social Media “
The workshop was attended by the head of the Department of Architecture, Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Jawad Kadhim, the scientific assistant, Dr. Mofeed Ihsan Shouk, in addition to faculty staff, female employments and students.
The workshop discussed the purposeful and constructive content creation in social media and ways to avoid the challenges that a content creator might face on social media as digital websites and media connections may have different people with varieties of ideologies and beliefs.
The workshop also included in the practical and applying aspect, where the attendees fill a special model for their pages that they hope to create and ways to develop them.
The workshop concluded with the distribution of participation certificates to the attendees.
Participation of the Graduate Follow-up Unit in the interactive session Titled " Green Baghdad, Challenges and Solutions"

The graduate follow-up unit participated in the department, represented by Lecturer Dr. Bilal Samir Ali and a number of students of the department in the interactive session titled " Green Baghdad, Challenges and Solutions"
Under the auspices of Al-Rasheed Centre for Strategic Studies and the Inlil Youth Team, The session addressed the issues of Iraq's water resources crisis and how to preserve the sustainability of green spaces in Baghdad, the capital, by discussing planning and urban challenges and emphasizing the active presence of youth in circulating the ecological culture of community conduct .
The intellectual Session discussions were held between young people and the attendees from the academics, environmental activists and members of the Iraqi House of parliament .

The Head of the Architectural Engineering Department delivered a speech during the General assembly meeting with the presence of faculty members and teaching staff of the Architecture Department on the occasion of the new academic year 2023/2022 start.
The President of the University, Professor Dr.Ahmad Al-Ghaban, sent a letter of thanks and appreciation to the faculty members of the fifth stage for the academic year 2021-2022. As appreciation for their efforts in supervising the graduation projects and developing students' creativity talents .
Dr. Ahmed Al-Ghaban's sent a letter of thanks and appreciation to the teaching staff of the department for the great efforts in discussing graduation projects that lasted for five consecutive days.

The discussions were distributed by three committees per day, including professors of the department's and architectural figures from other institutions , were 31 architectural figures from various Iraqi universities (Baghdad, Nahrin, Mustrasiriya, Samarra, Muthanna, Kufa, Wasit, Kuya, Diyala, Babylon,) were invited In addition to the consultants from the Ministry of Planning, the Ministry of Transport, Baghdad Airport, Mayoralty of Baghdad, Iraqi Engineers Union.
At another level, the President of the University of Technology , Professor Ahmed Al-Ghaban, attended the discussions and commended the distinguished efforts of the faculty members , projects creativity of the students and the organization of the discussions.
In conclusion, the Department's chairmanship is grateful for the tireless efforts of the fifth stage faculty team to improve our students. The head of the Department also thanks the discussants from the university and from other governmental institutions for attending projects discussions , providing constructive criticism and scientific advice to our students.
The Department also congratulates our dear students and shares their joy in accomplishing their graduation projects, asking God to help them in their future careers and develop the local architecture in the service of our beloved country.
A ministerial committee visited the Architectural Engineering Department on Sunday ,June 12,2022 ,,observing the progress of services in the department. The tour including bathrooms and electricity generator system as well as the drinking water and air conditioning systems provided to the students during the final exams. The Committee expressed its satisfaction with the services provided by the Department.
Master Thesis Discussion Titled ((Artisanship In Contemporary Architecture ))

The discussion was held on Thursday, May 26, 2022. At nine A.M, at the postgraduate study hall in the Department of Architectural Engineering at the University of Technology.
The discussion committee was headed by Prof. Dr. Basim Hasan Hashim and Assistant Prof. Dr. Anaam Amim Mohammed Saleh, Assistant Prof. Dr. Ines Salem Abd Al-Ahad as members.
The thesis is supervised by Prof.Dr. Asmaa Muhammad Hussein and Lecturer Dr. Bilal Samir Ali.

Participating In Job Festival organized by the Luft Engineering Consulting Company
Written by sohaibThe graduate follow-up unit in the architectural engineering department and fifth-stage students participated in the jobs festival organized by the Luft Engineering Consulting Company .The festival held in Al-Kashla Building on Thursday ,April 21, 2022. Dr. Bilal Samir delivered a speech about the importance of the architect's role in society, inviting the attendees to use and trust this role in the design and construction to increase job opportunities and complete sober buildings within the context of the ancient city of Baghdad. In conclusion, students included their statements to participate in the training and recruitment programs of the Luft Engineering Consulting Company .

A Visit to the new building of the Iraqi House Foundation for Creativity
Written by sohaibMembers of the Graduate follow up Unit in our department and a group of third – stage students visited the new building of the Iraqi House Foundation for Creativity in Baghdad. The building is an architectural design that combines heritage and contemporary that achieves absent design unity in most buildings and areas of the capital at present.
During the visit, students met the architect Haider Al - Hashimi, the designer of the project and the architect in charge of the site. Within this meeting, Students are recognized project’s role program and how to build a design idea and transforming it into a distinctive building and spaces that meet the children's multiple needs of educational, creative, and housing spaces in addition to the health care facilities. They also discussed the most important implementation challenges and skills that the architect must have to communicate with all the specialist fields responsible for establishing the building.
The visit concluded with congratulations to the employments on the new building and wishes for continued service to Iraqi society.
On Thursday, March 31, 2022, the Architectural Engineering Department’s football championship for students was concluded, the championship took place under the supervision of the student activities supervisor, Dr. Hoda Mohamed Suleiman, the second stage team beat the fourth stage team with a result of (3-0) ... Dr. Bilal Samir attended the match and the head of the ensnaring staff, Haitham Qais, on behalf of the department’s presidency.
The winning teams were granted by them with the first and second rank. The student Hamza Khalil from the fourth stage won the title of the ideal player, the student Omar Muhammad from the second stage won the title of best player, while the tournament’s top scorer was granted to the Student Sajjad Hussein from the second stage... All the best to our dear students.
