Virtual workshop Entitled Generative Design & Parametric Architecture
Written by zahraaIn cooperation with the Architectural Engineering Department-University of Technology, The Research and Development Unit at the Scientific Assistant Office organizes a virtual scientific workshop entitled:
Generative Design & Parametric Architecture: An Introduction to Futuristic Design Method
The lecture delivered by Professor Firas Salem Nouri, in the Department of Architecture at Ajman University and Dr. Yahiya Adel Ibrahim, a Professor in the Department of Architecture-University of Technology.
The workshop sheds light on the modern concepts of parametric design and generative design and their future prospects, which is a design method that quickly spread all over the world through famous architects such as Zaha Hadid, may God have mercy on her. The workshop will discuss the way she followed in her designs.
This method has dramatically changed the way design strategy is thought of towards a more detailed and sophisticated way of automating any process aiming to reduce or eliminate human design error, in addition to reduce the overall time required to achieve the best design.
The workshop was attended by the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs and Cultural Relations in addition to a large number of the university professors and architects interested in the subject, along with the under and post graduate students in a number of Iraqi and Emirates universities. The participants working actively during the lecture . The scientific assistant praised the lecturers and attendees, as well as the effective steps for developing curricula in the Department of Architecture.

The progress of the undergraduate examinations in presence
Written by zahraaAfter completing the electronic exams; Undergraduate students (second to fifth stage) are ready for the attendance examinations which are due on Sunday 11-4-2021 at the Architectural Engineering Department
The students were distributed to halls and studios, as an implement measures to prevent corona virus ,according to the guidance of the Health Crisis Cell in accordance with the instructions received from the university presidency.
Sixth Session Convention of the Architectural Engineering Department Council
Written by zahraahe Department of architecture council held sixth Session on Monday 1/03/2021. The Head of the Architectural Engineering Department, Professor Dr. Ibrahim Jawad inaugurated the session by welcoming the new members of the Department’s Council; the Head of the Architectural Design Branch, Dr. Ahmed Loai Ahmed, and the Head of the Urban Design Branch,Dr. Nada Abdel-Muin Hassan for assigning their duties at the presidency of the two branches.
During the meeting, The agenda submitted by of the scientific committee and the agenda of the postgraduate studies committee was reviewed and discussed, in addition to the most important directives received from the last University Council. The head and members of the examination committee were hosted during the session and deliberated on the subject of examinations as well as the department’s plan for the first semester exam preparations for both under and postgraduate studies for the current academic year within the directives and regulations received from the Ministry of higher education and the University presidency .

The discussion was held on Wednesday, 17/2/2021 at nine A.M, at Postgraduate studies hall in the Department of Architectural Engineering at the University of Technology.
The discussion focused on two important aspects; Contravening the commons: surrounding knowledge and Contravening the commons in Contemporary Architectural.

The discussion focused on the concept of scenography, which is one of the mechanisms adopted in the field of theater. The concept was studied in the contemporary architectural interior space in general and the museum buildings in particular.
The discussion committee was headed by prof. Dr.Abbas Ali Hamza and included each of; Dr. Sabih Lafta Farhan, Dr. Aseel Ibrahim Mahmoud, as members .

Gathering In Condemnation Of The Terrorist Acts Against Iraqi People
Written by zahraaThe first stage students of the Department of Architectural Engineering at the University of Technology under the supervision of the of Student Activities unit gathered as an expression of their condemnation against the terrorist attack in our beloved Baghdad, the attack affected innocent, hard-working people in Tayaran Square leading to martyrdom of innocent lives of Iraqi people.
During the congregation, Surat Al-Fatiha was read for the blessing of martyrs souls and speed recovery of the wounded.The congregation held .with the presence of the head of the department Prof.
Dr. Ibrahim Jawad Kadhim, the scientific assistant Dr. Moufid Ihsan Shawk , the administrative assistants Dr.Mahdi Salehin in addition to the academic professors and a number of the representatives of the stages, a representative of students from the department, and a student activity director in the department lecturer . Dr.Huda Mohammed.
The professors delivered a speech praising the students ’solidarity and their denunciation of this cowardly criminal aggression, stressing on the importance of students’ scientific path and their superiority in their scientific career to serve the great Iraq.
General Meeting at the Architectural Engineering Department
Written by zahraaA general meeting at the department of architecture was held on 01/24/2021 in the blue hall at the department with the presence of the head of the department Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Jawad Kadhim, the scientific assistant Dr. Moufid Shawk , and the administrative assistants Dr.Mahdi Salehin addition to the academic professors and faculty members .
The meeting included welcoming words to the attendees and discussing a number of important issues that focusing on the congratulating the inauguration of the opening of two new branches .The heads of the new branches were elected by the department’s faculty members, namely Dr .Ahmed Louay Ahmed , head of the Architect Design branch and Dr. Nada Abdel Moein, head of the Urban Design branch.
During the meeting, some functions were assigned to the professors in addition to the status of lecturing in the light of the large numbers of applicants to both under and post graduate studies. The method of maintaining health, precautionary measures to prevent the Corona virus pandemic was also discussed.
The head of the department focused on benefiting from the experiences of doctorate granted professors returning from scholarships through transferring technological progress and keeping update of developments in the various fields of engineering by applying them in the service of upgrading the scientific process at the University of Technology.

A Volunteer Campaign To Plant And Clean up The Exterior Spaces Of The Architectural Engineering Department
Written by zahraaUnder the guidance and patronage of the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Ghabban, and the supervision of the Mayor of Baghdad, Mr. Alaa Kazim, a volunteer campaign was conducted On Friday, January 15 ,2021, aiming at planting and cleaning up the exterior spaces of the University of Technology.
The delegation was received by Dr. Mahdi Saleh Al-Atabi, the Administrative Assistant.
The mayor praised the department's employees' efforts and their competence to keep pace with global development.
