The Student ((Hassan Ali Hassouni)) at the Department of Architecture has been
granted a master's degree in Architecture on his thesis titled“The role of the digital
twin in public buildings managing -controlling the spread of viruses in public buildings”
The discussion was held on Tuesday, August 1, 2023,, in the Department of
Architectural Engineering at the University of Technology.
The thesis focused on the concept of the Digital Twin in architecture and reviewed the
latest developments and studies related to the creation of the digital twin and the
current global challenges related to epidemics, especially the COVID-19 pandemic, and
how to confront these challenges through the digital twin.
The study aimed at presenting mechanisms for applying the digital twin in managing
the pandemic and controlling the viral spread within public buildings, The research
concluded that it is possible to achieve a safe and healthy indoor environment by
bridging the gap between architecture and humans using the digital twin, through
interventions (engineering, administrative, and personal controls) and mechanisms
that work to reduce the transmission of infection and protect the health of
individuals.
-The discussion committee was headed by Professor Dr. Ali Mohsen Al-Khafaji
Department of Architectural Engineering - University of Technology.
- Assistant Professor Dr. Younis Mahmoud Muhammad, Department of Architectural
Engineering - University of Technology. As a Member
- Assistant Professor Dr. Zuhair Abdel Adhim Nassar –– College of Urban Planning,
University of Kufa .As a Member
- The thesis is supervised by lecturer Dr.Ahmed Louay Ahmed - Department of
Architectural Engineering - University of Technology. (Also as a member}
