The Student ((Yamam Haider Wawiya) at the Department of Architecture has been
granted a master degree of Architectural Design on her thesis titled “Inlay in
Architecture: The Role of Inlay in Transforming Abandoned Structures and
Demonstrating the Vitality of the Architectural output”.
The discussion was held on, Monday 26 of June , 2023, in the Department of
Architectural Engineering at the University of Technology.
. The thesis focused on the concept of inlay and its role in changing and transforming
structures, abandoned buildings were transformed into new structures with an
identity and form different from that of the two participating parties.
The thesis aimed to reveal that role and the mechanisms for achieving the grafting of
neglected structures, as well as determining the extent of the vitality of the structure
after applying the grafting.
The thesis concluded by confirming the effectiveness of the grafting formulas with
specific mechanisms and techniques in demonstrating the vitality of the structure .
