Dr. Shamael M Wajeeh Al dabbagh currently is a faculty member at the Department of Architecture, The University of Technology in Baghdad, Iraq, with more than 24 years of academic experience. Dr. Shamael Al dabbagh is an assistant professor of architecture. She received her professional degree in architecture from the Department of Architectural Engineering, University of Technology (1995), a master’s degree (2002), and a Ph.D. in Architecture (2010) from the department of architecture, the University of Technology where she started her academic career in 1995. Throughout more than twenty-four years of academic experience, Dr. Shamael was involved in teaching architecture through theory and design studios in both undergraduate and graduate programs. Currently, Dr. Shamael is the main lecturer teaching interior architecture for preliminary studies through theory and design studios at the Department of Architectural Engineering, the University of Technology, Baghdad, Iraq. She also Lecturing on “Environmental Psychology” for graduate programs dealing with perception & conception, multi-sensory responses, mental images and their effect on aesthetic preferences, and how to make memorable architecture”. Lectured on the Architectural Graphics drawings as a module leader for Architectural Presentation and Freehand Drawing (developing basic skills to express and to communicate concepts, ideas, and proposals in terms of drawing -freehand sketching, architectural drawings, collaging and putting a portfolio). Served as a member of the architectural design studio team since 1995 tell now, about five years of them as a supervisor of graduation projects. Dr. Shamael has published more than 18 researches and papers many of which can be reached out on Research Gate. Moreover, she supervised 10 Masters' thesis all focused on Environmental Psychology in interior spaces.

- Interested in research related to architectural theory with a special focus on environmental psychology: the exploration of behavior-environment relationships, analysis of the social environment (privacy, territoriality, crowding). Evaluation of the enclosed built environment (home, workplace, community). Topics such as environmental aesthetics, spatial cognition, ethnic enclaves, neighborhood decline, neighborhood satisfaction, restorative and livable places.
- Concerned in the interrelation between architectural theories and scientific theories in the fields of Psychophysics, Perceptual and Cognitive Sciences,multi-sensory responses, perception & conception, mental images and their effect on aesthetic preferences, and how to make memorable architecture ).
- Interested in interior design, decoration, and furniture design.
