Dr. Ahmed H. H. Al-eqaby received his professional degree in architecture from the College of Architectural Engineering, University of technology (2001), a master’s degree (2004), and PhD in Architecture (2009) from the department of architecture, college of engineering, University of Baghdad. Throughout more than sixteen years of academic experience, Dr. Ahmed involved in teaching architectural philosophy and theory, research methodology, and design studios in both undergraduate and graduate programs. His general field of research is philosophy, theories, and research methodology of architecture. His focus on studying the theories of architectural has culminated with his Ph.D. dissertation (Influence of change on the sociological identity in architecture). His research interest also includes Islamic Architecture Studies. Dr. Ahmed has advised 4 MSc thesis, and published forty three researches in national and international journals. He also participate in many conferences, workshops, and symposiums at different capacities. Along his academic career, Dr. Ahmed served at different leading positions. In addition to his academic experience, Dr. Ahmed has a professional career initiated since 1990 through design and project management. He is a member of the Iraqi and Arab Engineers Associations, at which he served at important positions and received many thanks letters and appreciation certificates for his contribution to the academic and professional community of architecture and engineering in Iraq. Dr. Ahmed H. H. The major research interest of Assitance Professor Dr. Ahmed H. H. Al-eqaby is philosophy and theories of architecture, architecture and urban design pedagogy, analytical studies of modern theories of architecture, and architectural criticism, architectural research methodology
However, the scope of his research also includes vernacular and local architecture studies, smart buildings, and building structure and modern construction technology.

Throughout more than (16) years of academic experience, since October 2005, Dr. Ahmed H. H. Al-eqaby involved in teaching architecture through theory and design studios in both undergraduate and graduate programs (Master's and PhD)
His theory classes mainly focused on Building Construction, History and Theory of Architecture, and Criticism and Philosophy of Architecture, and architectural research methodology. In design studios his focus is on Architectural Design Studios, Architectural Details.
Along his academic and professional career, Dr. Ahmed H. H. Al-eqaby has received numerous honors and awards. He also received many thanks and appreciation certificates from different institutions in Iraq for his invaluable contribution to both the academic and professional fields in Iraq. Many of these thanks and appreciation letters are for his influential contributions to enhance the system of higher education not only at architecture departments and colleges but also at all Iraqi institutions. Others are for his active participation in many national and international conferences and workshops.
He is also a member in many Iraqi Engineers organizations, Unions, committees, and associations. Dr. Ahmed H. H. Al-eqaby is a consultant architect at the Iraqi Engineers Association and a member of the Iraqi academic guild. He also served as a consultant architect at the advisory office of University of Technology.
